Cornhusker Hotel, Lincoln
Moderated by Donald Fiedler, Esq.
Ever had a highway stop that escalated into a search? Do you think your next step is to get in the supplicant position and beg for mercy? Many of these cases can be won and NCDAA proudly has gathered three of the best criminal defense lawyers in America, on this topic. They all have successfully defended against Constitutional excesses perpetuated by Law Enforcement against defendants finding themselves accused of transporting drugs on our nation’s highways.
Chuck Hawkins was born and raised in Omaha, and practices in Minneapolis. He is a zealous advocate, a relentless cross-examiner, and a powerful and entertaining speaker.
Dan Monnat hails from Wichita, Kansas, although he was educated at Creighton Law School. Dan has appeared on three previous NCDAA programs and is always informative, meticulously prepared, and a courtroom craftsman extraordinaire.
Kirk Naylor comes from our own backyard. He practices in Lincoln. Kirk is always chock full of valuable practice pointers. He knows what to ask and what not to ask. He has amassed a record of sustained Motions to Suppress that would rival anyone in the country.
The lectures alone would be worth the price of admission. But, as moderator, Don Fiedler has demonstrated in past seminars, the lectures really hit home when the speakers demonstrate some of the techniques discussed in the lectures. There will be a short hypothetical case and an accomplished actor portraying a typical state trooper. Our panel of expert and highly experienced criminal defense attorneys will subject Trooper Virgil Lante to a series of cross examinations that will be both educational and memorable.
