Understanding Digital Evidence from Mobile Devices

    Friday, March 27, 2026

    Quarry Oaks, Ashland

    with Chris Wells

Mobile device evidence is now a routine part of criminal cases, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood areas of forensic evidence. Understanding how this data is created, collected, analyzed, and presented is critical for effective defense.

On March 27, please join us at Quarry Oaks in Ashland for a 6-hour CLE seminar designed specifically for defense attorneys. The seminar will be presented by Chris Wells, a digital forensics expert with extensive experience in mobile device analysis. Throughout the day, Chris will walk attendees through how cell phone evidence is generated and examined, how cellular networks actually function, and where errors, assumptions, and limitations often arise.

In addition to covering foundational concepts in cell phone forensics, the seminar will include live demonstrations of mobile device extraction and data analysis. These demonstrations are intended to give defense attorneys a clearer picture of what forensic tools do—and just as importantly, what they do not do. Attendees will leave better prepared to evaluate forensic reports, question expert conclusions, and strengthen cross-examination.
